Cannot the Kingdom of Salvation Take Me Home?

Just thought I'd mention, today this September 27, 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of the death of Cliff Lee Burton. In my opinion Cliff has been the most influential member of Metallica during the good ol days of the bay area Thrash movement.

He was the only one that actually had a education in music, which he used to always challenge and expose the rest of the band to new and unorthodox methods. As a result the masterpieces such as Master of Puppets, Kill em all, and my favourite Ride the Lightning were conceived. While I was not born yet (short by one year) I can't put myself in a position to mourn or reminisce but I can honestly say that it was this man who influenced me to pick up my weapon of choice, the bass. The first songs I learned were Anesthesia (pulling teeth), Orion, and Creeping Death; the holy triumvirate of his legacy in my opinion!

Gone but never forgotten
